Unfortunately, deep pits and grooves can trap plaque and cause cavities. At Poole Creek Family Dentistry, we will often encourage preventative measures, such as sealants.

The Centers for Disease Control released a report on the importance of sealants which found that "school-age children without sealants have almost three times more cavities than children with sealants."

Sealants are small protective fillings that are painted on the deep pits and grooves of adult molars and help prevent cavities from starting - with absolutely no freezing!
