Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMD) causes mild to severe pain and discomfort in the head, neck and shoulders.
TMD produces a wide range of symptoms including but not limited to: issues opening the mouth, headaches, and pain in the neck and shoulder areas.
There are a wide variety of potential causes for TMD. If you are experiencing discomfort, “popping” sounds or grinding in the joint, or problems with your ears or hearing, be sure to bring them to our attention.
A consultation with our dentist will help determine whether you have TMD, and what course of action is required to alleviate your symptoms. For example, we may advise you to wear a custom mouthguard, which we can create for you.
